The Sagamore Hotel, Miami Beach, hosted the Miami Contemporary Artists book launch on 4 Dec., 2007. It has taken a year for this event to come about. There are approximately 140 artists represented in the book, produced in both hard and, soft covers. In addition two exhibitions are mounted from the artists in the book, one at the Freedom Tower, downtown Miami across the street from American Airlines Arena and, the other mounted at Art Center South Florida, 800 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach. My two photographs and mixed media was at the Freedom Tower. Obviously, it was an honor being part of this groundbreaking and, historical document.

Back in Philadelphia for a reception for the Evoking Memory exhibition located in Gallery 908, Philadelphia Glass Works. We had a chance to meet and greet again and strengthen our networking opportunities and options. I really treasured the chance to meet a whole new group of talented artists. Also, I had a more detailed conversation with the web dev guy for the organizing entity, Village of Arts & Humanities, who explained his role and talked about the organization’s site that’s about ready to relaunch. I’m heading back to Fort Lauderdale on Sunday morning.

The list of things that need to be accomplished continues to grow even as other items get checked off. I can’t even remember every single thing as I fall asleep at night I remember something forgotten during the day. I used to have a pencil and paper by my bed but, things like that are more difficult with my current living situation. My goal has to be to bring myself into a more stable and productive environment for living and working. I’m working on it although, certain things need to be addressed in order to get to the next stage in the process.

Canoing and hiking had me more tired than I expected to be but, I sit in front of the computer more now than ever. But, it seems that there are financial opportunities there that I cannot pass up. I’m too poor to ignore bettering myself financially, whenever possible. I can see some light at the end of this tunnel I’m in as a result.

Photo class was back in session today. I tried to get some of the studio lights working but, I needed a screw driver to install the bulbs.
